lymphatic drainage massage

Support Your Lymphatic System

A manual lymphatic drainage massage uses very light pressure and long, rhythmic strokes on the body to promote the flow of lymphatic fluid, aiding in detoxification and the removal of waste and toxins from your body. Specific techniques, including gentle strokes across the lymph nodes and lymphatic brushing, aim to re-stimulate the natural movements of your lymphatic system. This treatment helps support your body’s natural drainage processes, strengthens your immune system, improves circulation and stabilises fluid levels.

These comprehensive treatments are provided at the Ballyneety Innovation Hub (eircode V94 7W13), just 15 minutes outside Limerick City.

Special offer! All lymphatic drainage treatments are 20% off this month!

How do I know if I need manual lymph drainage?

There are many reasons people opt for this holistic treatment. If you’ve been feeling bloated, sluggish, or dealing with persistent swelling, it may be your body’s way of signaling that your lymphatic system is sluggish. Here are some common signs that a lymphatic drainage massage may be beneficial for you:

  • Fluid retention: often seen as swelling in the ankles, legs and hands

  • Chronic fatigue and lack of energy: a sluggish lymphatic system can leave you feeling drained

  • Frequent colds and infections: your lymphatic system plays a vital role in identifying and removing harmful bacteria, viruses and fungi. If it’s not functioning properly, your immune system suffers

  • Recent surgery: manual lymph drainage aids recovery by improving circulation, reducing pain, swelling, improving waste removal and boosts healing

  • Skin issues: common skin concerns, such as acne, puffiness and cellulite are a sign that the lymphatic system is congested

  • Digestive concerns: symptoms like bloating, water retention and a sluggish digestive system may signal that your abdominal lymphatic flow needs some support

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING YOUR TREATMENT

Lymphatic drainage massage is performed with you lying down (or semi-reclined). While this treatment is generally provided with clothing removed (aside from your undergarments), you decide which clothing you are comfortable removing or leaving on. This treatment can be modified over the clothes and your comfort is my top priority at all times. This treatment is deeply relaxing and many clients will fall asleep during the treatment. Manual lymph drainage takes approximately 45 minutes (plus 10 minutes for a consultation since your last treatment) and costs €60 per session.

90 min sessions are also available, which include lymph drainage via cupping on the face and lymphatic brushing.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes, this is one of the most common reasons clients opt for lymphatic drainage as a one off treatment and for packages. Lymphatic drainage offers major benefits for those who have undergone surgery for any reason. Look here for package options.

  • Lymphatic drainage is typically done with all clothing, except underwear, removed. Your comfort is my number one priority and you will not be asked to remove any clothing you would rather keep on. The treatment can also be adjusted to be done over the clothes (aside from lymphatic brushing).

When an area is not being worked on physically, it will be covered with a towel, ensuring you are warm and cosy. If you have any questions, you can of course always get in touch with me prior to your treatment.

  • It is €60 for a single treatment and €300 for a package of six treatments.

  • During your first appointment, you can expect a brief consultation with me where we will go over your goals, any reasons why you have opted for the treatment and your preferences for areas worked on/omitted. You will receive a comprehensive treatment covering the entire body and you can adjust this if you would like more emphasis on a certain area or any omitted from the treatment.

The treatment itself lasts approximately 45 minutes, including light, long strokes along the body to stimulate the flow of lymph. Lymphatic brushing may also be included, if you would like. This is optional and no extra charge.

  • In most cases, yes. The pressure applied to the skin is tailored to your needs and my goal is to always ensure you are comfortable. If your skin is very dry, cracked or you have psoriasis/eczema, I would avoid treating over particularly inflamed and sensitive areas.
